We had another awesome stop-motion workshop today, presented by Norm DeCarlo, who generously provided us with a second workshop on this inspiring topic.
It is so gratifying to see how excited everyone is when working collaboratively on a creative project!
And I am so happy to report that I received my first submission today from a young man named Robbie who has been coming to the workshops for a couple of years now. It is really great!
And a quick thank you and “welcome home” to Izzy Marsh of Team Redwood who joined us to help keep everything organized today!
Special thanks to everyone who helped me make a promotional video for the festival. Collaboration is the name of the game! I will be finishing it up soon and will share when ready.
The next workshop will be on August 15th from 11am–1pm, where we will focus on creating a Montage, and exploring how the Kuleshov Effect impacts the stories we plan to tell. AJ Meininger will be back at the helm for this engaging workshop.
Our workshops are designed to build the confidence needed to make short films – and we can’t wait to screen them in Belvedere Park on October 9, 2026 at 6pm.

What to Bring (if you have it):
💻 Laptop (fully charged) with CapCut installed — use the desktop version, not the cloud version (it’s free!)
📱 Smartphone (fully charged)
- Any gear you have: tripod, gimbal, camera rig, audio equipment — but don’t worry if you don’t have any of it
- A few lavalier mics will be available to borrow
- Most importantly: start thinking about a film you’d like to make. Celebrate your community!
