BHMFF Workshop recap

It was so great to see so many of you at the workshop today, and to welcome some new folks to the project.

AJ Meininger once again guided us through a fun lesson with hands-on activities designed to help us understand what makes a successful montage. We also learned about the power of using the Kuleshov effect when approaching how to edit your film.

Thanks to Team Redwood member Joel Kurtzman who was on hand to help with editing.

Next Saturday, August 22, we will be exploring how to make a “Real People/Real Stories” film, and how incorporating the Close-Up can help tell their story.

Our workshops are designed to build the confidence needed to make short films – and we can’t wait to screen them in Belvedere Park on October 9, 2026 at 6pm.

For those that want to access the practice films from the workshops, you can do so by clicking HERE.
