Belvedere Home Made Film Festival

Hello everyone. We had a really fun workshop today where we broke into groups and created short films using a genre-based soundtrack as the inspiration to guide the storyline.

It quickly became clear that the soundtrack of a film has an immense impact on the emotional thrust of a film – and once again, Team Redwood was an integral part of making this workshop a success. Thank you to Sam, Sebastian, Sofia, Enzo, and to star student Bryce for all their help!

Thanks always to our amazing workshop designer AJ Meininger for putting everything together in such a cohesive and easily understandable way.

These workshops are designed to build the confidence behind some incredible films – and we can’t wait to screen them in Belvedere Park on October 9, 2026 at 6pm.

Also, a quick schedule update regarding July 18th workshop: Due to the challenges of making a stop motion film, we have extended the hours of the workshop to run from 11am to 3pm.

Because this is such a hands-on process, not everyone will get studio time this round – but everyone will leave with a solid foundation to keep exploring this technique on their own.

What to Bring (if you have it):

💻 Laptop (fully charged) with CapCut installed — use the desktop version, not the cloud version (it’s free!)

📱 Smartphone (fully charged)

• Any gear you have: tripod, gimbal, camera rig, audio equipment — but don’t worry if you don’t have any of it
• A few lavalier mics will be available to borrow
• Most importantly: start thinking about a film you’d like to make. Celebrate your community!
